What We Believe

New Hope Family Church is Trinitarian believing there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God and declares His design and plan for mankind.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return to power and glory.

We believe that Man was created in the image of God and was originally good but fell to sin through his voluntary disobedience. This ushered in evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

We believe that God’s plan for our salvation was Christ dying for us while we were still sinners, signing the pardon for all who believe in Him. Upon our sincere repentance and a whole-hearted acceptance of Jesus as our personal Savior, we are justified before God.

We believe that Water Baptism is an outward expression of our commitment to Jesus Christ and we observe the Lord’s Supper believing that the body and blood of Christ are truly and substantially present in, with and under the forms of the consecrated bread and juice or wine.

We believe that Sanctification initially occurs at salvation and sets us apart as holy, but is also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as we continually draw closer to God and become more Christ-like.

We believe the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a special experience following salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and for service just as it did in New Testament times.

We believe that the Holy Spirit has gifts to bestow upon the Spirit-filled believer and our lives should demonstrate the evidence of those gifts.

We believe the experience and daily walk of the believer should never lead him or her into extremes or fanaticism.

We believe that God still heals those who are sick according to His perfect will. Divine Healing is provided for by Jesus Christ through His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins.

We believe that a Divinely-called and Scripturally-ordained ministry serves the church. Leadership must commit to the edification and encouragement of the body of believers while equipping each one for ministry to others.

We believe that the mission of the church is to save souls and we work in cooperation with all other members of the Body of Christ in the fulfillment of the biblical mandate to “go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

We believe in the Second Coming of Christ that is personal and imminent.

We believe that some day all shall stand before Jesus Christ to receive eternal life or death. Heaven is the glorious home of born-again believers and Hell is the place of eternal torment for all those who have rejected Christ as their Savior.
