New Hope Family Church
Pastor John has been in ministry since 1994 when he became the Men’s Ministry Director at a Foursquare Church in Newhall. He attended Bible college at King’s College and planted Stevenson Ranch Community Church in 1997. As an ordained minister and the executive pastor, he quickly grew the church to over 130 people and received awards from the Stevenson Ranch Civic Committee for participation in community events.
Now retired from the City of Glendale, he had coordinated Men’s Prayer Breakfasts, led a Bible study for City employees for five years, and was the chairman of the 1999 Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast.
Pastor John became the counseling and family life pastor at North Valley Foursquare Church and invested over 2,000 hours of counseling time into encouraging and fostering personal and spiritual change in the lives of individuals and families. During that time he developed an eight week Lifeskills for Couples seminar which was attended by church members and members of the community. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
In 2008, he became an associate pastor at Erwin Street Foursquare. Following the resignation of the pastor, and with the denomination's desire to give the church property to a Spanish-speaking congregation, the church voted to leave the Foursquare denomination and become a non-denominational church. In February of 2009, New Hope Family Church celebrated their first service as an independent church and ordained Pastor John as their pastor.

Pastor Manuel is an ordained minister in the Mennonite-Anabaptist Brethren Church and has planted many secret underground churches in his home country of Venezuela where there is a high level of government persecution against the Christian church.
Leaving behind a career as a popular singer and television celebrity in Venezuela, he serves the Lord today with great joy. Some of those in the assisted living home speak Spanish only and Pastor Manuel is their beloved pastor and friend!
